This is a quite desolate place in New Mexico. I went to photograph there in the middle of summer somehow thinking it would be cooler there. And it was, in the morning, not so much as the day progressed. I feel lucky to be here writing this post after exhausting all of my water, becoming dehydrated in the 98 degree heat while aimlessly hiking up and down hills for hours searching for the way out under a bald sky with absolutely no shade in sight. I will not make that mistake again - I now carry more water, a GPS and a lot less camera gear - but I digress.
There are so many unusual geological formations here...when I topped the vista I felt like I was in an old western movie. This image was blended with an antique background and unfortunately with all of it's detail does not render well in a smaller format.
More images from here to come.
